Introduction: As a Marine Bird Biologist for the US Fish and Wildlife Service Division of Migratory Birds, I work with partners to develop and coordinate seabird and shorebird management and conservation projects. My work focuses on offshore, nearshore, and coastal environments of Atlantic North America. Current and former projects include: - Gear trials and planning to reduce bycatch in commercial fisheries - Coordination of work to understand marine debris-bird interactions in the Gulf of Maine region - Coordinating the Atlantic Marine Bird Cooperative, a WSU partner organization (atlanticmarinebirds.org) - Development and implementation of the Atlantic Flyway Shorebird Initiative (http://atlanticflywayshorebirds.org) - Management of seabird - offshore wind conflict - Tracking winter use and movement patterns of Northern Gannets, Red-throated Loons, and Surf Scoters and other diving birds to avoid conflict with offshore energy development (see https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/ddi.13168) - Coordination of predation management efforts to benefit beach-nesting shorebirds on the US Atlantic coast - USFWS Liaison to the Atlantic Flyway Council Nongame Technical Section
