PhD and teaching position in bird behavioural ecology at JLU Giessen (Germany), to start 1 April 2022
3 years, with possible extension up to 2 additional years, supervised by Prof. Petra Quillfeldt https://www.uni-giessen.de/fbz/fb08/Inst/tsz/voekophysiologie
We are looking for a candidate with an MSc in Biology, Bioinformatics or a related subject and an interest in advanced data analysis (analysis of tracking data, acoustic data and image recognition using AI/Machine learning methods). Teaching could be in the fields of zoology/ornithology (preferably in German) or statistics (in German or English), depending on previous experience. Although this is mainly a data analysis PhD, participation in fieldwork is possible both locally and in remote seabird breeding sites.
