Shoals Marine Lab is looking for a tern research assistant

Shoals Marine Lab is looking for 1 more field assistant for a tern colony restoration/monitoring program- we are looking for a recent grad with experience banding birds (seabirds esp.). Please forward to anyone who might be interested or who could spread the word.

Two interns will join SML's research internship program. These interns will manage breeding colonies of Common, Roseate and Arctic Terns. Primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, re-sighting of bands, tern diet studies, productivity monitoring, banding, predator management, conservation biology or ecology, and more. Friday, May 1 - Monday, August 31, 2015 (end date may vary depending upon migration). Stipend of $150/week. Room and board provided. The intern will have the opportunity to conduct his or her own study and participate in a weekly seminar to learn the process of independent scientific research.
